You’re allowed to ask the question.

Explore the beliefs you inherited and the values that feel like yours today.

Let’s Talk

INHERITED BELIEFS

Some rules arrived
before you chose them.

You may have grown up with clear ideas about relationships, religion, politics, success, or what makes someone a good person. Some of those ideas may still matter to you. Others may feel harder to live by now.

Questioning them can bring uncertainty. You might worry about what a change means for your family, your community, or the way you understand yourself. It can be difficult to explain a question when the people around you still feel sure of the answer.

Therapy gives us a place to explore those questions and the meaning they have in your life.

WHAT DECONSTRUCTION CAN MEAN

Taking a closer look
at what you were taught.

Deconstruction is a word people use for examining inherited beliefs. You might be asking where a belief came from, how it affects your choices, and whether it reflects the adult you are today.

That can include faith. It can also include expectations about marriage, family, work, or the way you should respond to other people. We can talk about what you want to understand, without needing to settle every question at once.

The focus is on your experience and the values that matter to you.

WHEN LIFE BRINGS THE QUESTION FORWARD

A transition can change
what you need to understand.

A loss may bring questions about what you believe happens after death. A relationship change can challenge an idea of commitment you have held for years. Becoming a parent can make you look at your own upbringing differently.

We can explore both the immediate change and the older patterns it brings into view. Mindfulness, emotional regulation, and coping skills can be part of the conversation, alongside the questions about meaning.

WORKING WITH KERRY

A conversation
with room for complexity.

I enjoy working with people who are ready to explore the beliefs they grew up with and how those beliefs may be limiting their choices.

My approach brings together conversation about patterns, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and practical coping skills. We can consider what feels right for your life today, including the places where you are still unsure.

I offer individual therapy by video for adults in Texas and Colorado. Couples sessions are also available when transitions or changing beliefs affect a relationship.

Do I have to be leaving a religion?

No. This work can involve questions about religion, relationships, politics, family expectations, and other beliefs that shape your choices.

What if my partner is in a different place?

Changing beliefs can affect a relationship. I offer couples sessions for relationships touched by transitions and life events; we can discuss whether that fits what you are looking for.

Can grief be part of this work?

Yes. A loss can bring questions about meaning, faith, and identity along with grief. Those experiences can be discussed together.

How do I begin?
