When life changes, the relationship changes too.
Couples therapy for transitions, loss, and changing beliefs.
Let’s TalkCOUPLES THERAPY
Two people can experience the same change differently.
One of you may be questioning a belief you once shared. A loss may affect each of you in different ways. Becoming parents, changing careers, or navigating another major transition can bring expectations into the open.
You may be trying to understand what has changed while also finding it difficult to talk about it. Conversations can return to the same disagreement even when both people are trying to explain something important.
I offer couples therapy for relationships affected by transitions and life events. We can make room for each person’s experience and look at the patterns that shape how you respond to one another.

EXPECTATIONS AND PATTERNS
The disagreement may carry a history.
Ideas about partnership often begin before the relationship itself. Family, faith, community, and past experiences can influence what you expect from commitment, communication, and support.
A transition may reveal a difference that was easier to overlook before. You might discover that the same word or decision means something different to each of you.
We can explore those expectations and the beliefs underneath them. The conversation can include what each person learned, what matters now, and where you are still trying to understand each other.
CHANGING BELIEFS
A shared life can hold different questions.
When one person begins questioning an inherited belief, the other may have questions about what that means for the relationship. Shared traditions, family connections, or plans for the future can become part of the conversation.
We can talk about the individual experience and the effect on the partnership. There is room to name uncertainty and explore the meaning each person gives to the change.
The work is connected to your relationship and your priorities. A consultation gives us a chance to discuss what you are seeking and whether my focus fits your needs.
